How to Download and Install Tutorial

Downloading is any time you recieve a file across the internet. In this case you are going to be recieving a game. When you download a game from NutriGames, you are copying a file from our web site to your computer. This is what lets you to install the game on your machine.

Here's how to download a file using Internet Explorer and Windows XP. If you're using a different browser such as Netscape Navigator or a different version of Windows, your screens may look a little different, but the same basic steps should work.

In this example we will go through the steps in downloading a file using Internet Explorer on Windows XP. If you are using a different version of Windows or a different web browser, such as Netscape or Opera, you may see screens that look different but overall the process should work.

  1. Click a Download link for one of our games.

  2. Usually after clicking a download link a window will pop up asking you if you want to Open the file (run without saving), Save the file, or cancel. If you do not see this pop up it is because some browsers will automatically default to "Save."

  3. After you select "Save" it will ask you to select a folder on your computer to save the file to using a standard "Save As" dialog you may have seen in other programs. Pay close attention to where you save the file. To make things easier to remember, it may help to create a folder just for downloading such as "C:\Downloads"

  4. After choosing where to save the file to and clicking the "Save" button, the file will begin downloading. A window will show the current progress of the download via a visual progress bar and a Percent Complete. It will also show where the file is being download to.

    There may also be a "Close this dialog box when download completes" checkbox. If this is NOT checked in, then when the download completes you will have 2 more options available, the "Open" and the "Open Folder" buttons. When the download completes these buttons allow you to either open the file you just downloaded, or open the folder where you just downloaded the file to.

    You may cancel the download at any time before it completes if you change your mind.

  5. The time it takes to complete the download will vary depending on how large the file is you are downloading and how fast your internet connection. Upon completion, if you had the "Close this dialog box when download completes" box unchecked, you will now see a window that looks similar to this.

  6. You can now click the "Open" button to start the installation. When the installation starts, just follow the instructions and the game will install on your computer. If you had the "Close this dialog box when download completes" option checked in, you will not see the "Download complete" window. In this case, open the folder where you told it to download to and then double-click the file and follow the instructions to install the game to your computer.
